Try a Flavorful New Cocktail

You'll definitely want to start off your dining experience with new cocktail. If you're into martinis, order the Firefly. It's is a delicious adult beverage featuring passion fruit, aperol (an Italian aperitif) and Milagro Silver Tequila. It's sweet but not too sweet and it's not strong and overwhelming like some martinis. I found it extremely refreshing on a hot August day.
Another great new beverage on the menu is the Kentucky Tea.

It's your favorite summertime beverage (iced tea) mixed with Jack Daniels Honey Tennessee Whiskey and lemon for a remarkably smooth cocktail.

You can find The Cheesecake Factory locations in Allen, Arlington, Dallas, Frisco and Southlake.

Moroccan Chicken

With so many unique choices on their menu, I absolutely had to try something new. (Did you know there are more than 200 items on the menu?). The Moroccan Chicken sounded exotic and inviting. It was the perfect entree choice. It was grilled marinated chicken over pearl couscous with asparagus, almonds, golden raisins and onions served with spicy Harissa Sauce. In case you're not familiar, a Harissa Sauce is actually a Tunisian hot chili sauce made from a variety of peppers and spices.
I know I'm a native Texan but I didn't notice any extreme heat from the peppers.

It was such a unique layering of flavors between the sauce and the golden raisins and the crunch of almonds. I will definitely order the Moroccan Chicken on my next trip. It was an incredible dish. It's perfect for sharing or you have the bonus of savory leftovers for your next meal. $16.95 and worth every penny.

Other exciting new menu items include:
  • Mexico City Chicken - Fresh lime chicken breasts over black beans and chicken chorizo, with white rice and spicy tomato sauce, topped with roasted corn salsa.
  • Cajun Burger - Topped with Andouille sausage, sauteed peppers, onions and spicy mayo on a grilled brioche bun.
  • Sausage and Broccolini Pasta - Italian sausage, tomato, fresh broccolini, spinach and asparagus tossed with penne pasta and parmesan cheese.
  • BrulĂ©ed French Toast - Only the best French Toast ever! Extra Thick Slices of Rustic French Bread baked and grilled golden brown and topped with powdered sugar and served with maple-butter syrup.

And now, the moment that we've all been waiting for. Dallas-Fort Worth, please meet the most wonderful, delicious, chocolaty dessert that you've ever imagined: the new Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's truly a festival of flavors. From the chocolaty crust to the cheesecake layer (with Oreo cookies scattered throughout), it's total decadence topped with a big Oreo cookie.

If that's not enough, there's some whipped cream on the side.

The Verdict: It was a cool culinary creation that will leave your mouth watering for more. Yes, it's a little sweet. (Aren't desserts supposed to be sweet? Order a coffee. Share. Go to the gym before you go to the restaurant. Problem solved. Oh, one more potential issue. It may be addicting. Order an extra slice to take home. Problems eliminated. You're welcome.

I may just dream about this dessert tonight. Instead of counting sheep, I can count cheesecake varieties. (There are about 50 different varieties). Make it a point to sample them all.

What's your favorite cheesecake? I loved trying the Oreo Dream Extreme. It's definitely the perfect dessert to share. But my all-time favorite is the Key Lime Cheesecake. It's simply perfect with its crunchy graham cracker crust, tart lime filling and whipped cream topping. De-lish! PS: I will not share a slice of Key Lime Cheesecake. It's all mine.

For many, it's easier to get excited about cheesecakes and martinis than salads. But that's not the case here. I was very excited when I tried the Beets with Goat Cheese. It's not technically a new menu item, but it was new to me and I loved this tasty dish. Fresh beets, apples, baby arugula, pecans and vinaigrette are the recipe for a healthy creation that will make you feel like you're totally indulging -- and it's not your typical, boring lettuce, tomato, cucumber bland old salad.

Go ahead, indulge.
