The holiday season brings a festive atmosphere and a healthy dose of shopping, but it also brings the Winter Break for metro area students. Whether it's a couple of weeks or perhaps longer for kids on the continuous learning calendar in OKC Public Schools, the Winter Break presents a challenge for parents. One solution could be a camp.

• Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center Winter Camps

  When: December 18-19
  What: There are two age range group camps (5-8, and 9-12) that run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Titles include "Winter Adventure" and "Merry Felting."

  When: December 17-19
  What: This performance camp is open to kids ages 5-12 and runs each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• OKC Thunder Youth Basketball Camp

  When: December 29-30
  What: Kids ages 5-16 can participate in a youth basketball camp from the Oklahoma City Thunder organization. The camp, which runs from 9 a.m to noon, emphasizes character as well as basketball skills.

• Oklahoma City Zoo Camp

  When: December 30-31
  What: Available to kids ages 4-12, OKC Zoo camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
