    The Ethel Lee Hoover Ellis Scholarship:

    • African American women majoring in business can apply to receive the Ethel Lee Hoover Ellis Scholarship. Entrants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Winners are selected based on responses to the 750-word essay topic "Business and Community United. Unfortunately, women who reside outside of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia are not eligible for this award.

    Jeannette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund

    • The Jeannette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund exists to assist older women in the pursuit of postsecondary degrees. To be considered for the scholarship award, women must be over the age of 35 and demonstrate financial need in accordance with the Department of Labor's Lower Living Standard. For example, a single member household can have a maximum net income of $13,958. Scholarships can be used towards a technical or vocational education, an associate's or bachelor's degree. Winners are selected based on demonstrated triumph over past obstacles.

    Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards

    • Women who are the main household breadwinners facing challenges to return to school, may be eligible for the Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Award. The number of scholarships awarded each year varies, but each award given can be up to $10,000. Scholarships are awarded to women seeking to improve employment opportunities through a college or technical education. You must be enrolled or accepted into an undergraduate degree program at the time of your application.

    Emerge Scholarships

    • Women who have been out of the workforce due to family obligations can apply to receive the Possible Woman Foundation International Scholarship, also known as the Emerge Scholarship. The scholarship program targets stay-at-home moms re-entering the workforce who are seeking a career change or career advancement. Applicants may have some college education but should not have a four year degree. Scholarship award amounts range from $2,000 to $5,000 for one academic year.
