Did you know Kuwait has pledged 500 million Dollars in Hurricane Katrina Relief Funds? Folks 500 million dollars is one-half a billion dollars, that is a huge chunk of change and it proves that our support for that little nation in Gulf War I was not forgotten.
It proves that doing the right thing leads to cooperation and friends around the world.
Often people may not see this in the short term.
People often accept the view or the television's version of our Nations' World Policies, yet we eventually see and history shows that the United States foreign policies lead to better understanding in the World.
No one told Kuwait that they needed to make a donation, no one told them to pledge this level of gift.
One-half a billion dollars, that is the biggest gift our country has ever received from anyone? It would be smart to be humbled and thankful of such a gift and a statement that "they are with us" and in a really big way.
Eventually the entire region country by country will be stabilized and all working with one another and with the world.
They will all be with us.
When was the last time someone besides Bill Gates decided to pledge that level of gift to the needs of our nation.
We are always the givers, funding projects and disaster relief to the world, but now we are on the receiving end from friends who are watching the disaster footage and relief efforts.
Isn't it great to have leaders in our nation who have made friends in the world at this level, real friends who really care and will help us help ourselves as we see this Hurricane Disaster relief through.
