  • 1). Lay newspapers down outside to paint the 10-inch square wooden plaque. Place the wooden plaque on top of the newspapers and spray it all over with gray spray paint. Be sure to paint the sides as well. Give two even coats to the wooden plaque and allow it to dry completely.

  • 2). Peel the paper from the adhesive from a wall hanger. Press it into the center back of the wooden plaque. This allows for easy hanging once the robot wall art is finished.

  • 3). Instruct your child draw a robot on the wrong side of blue self-adhesive contact paper, which is the side where the paper is. Draw any kind of robot your child wants to. Let her know that the drawing will be reversed on the wall plaque.

  • 4). Cut out the robot with scissors. Keep the backing on. Turn it over and have your child add details with the black marker.

  • 5). Peel away the paper backing of the contact paper. Press it into the center of the gray wooden plaque. Be sure the wall hanger is on the back. Push out any bubbles that form.

  • 6). Hammer a small picture hook on the wall where you want the robot wall art to hang. Hang the finished artwork on the picture hook.
