How to Turn Someone in With a Warrant
- 1). Find out if there is a warrant out on an individual. Whether you decide to review the outstanding warrants on a police or court website, or you're actively looking to see if someone has a warrant by calling the court house and asking them to check doesn't matter. As long as you have identified that an individual does indeed have a warrant out on him, it's time to move forward.
- 2). Learn their current location. If this person is close to you, then it's easy enough identify her location, say if it's a neighbor, or a distant family member staying in your house. Once you've confirmed where she is, move on to step three.
- 3). Call the police. Don't use 911, but rather use the local number for non-emergencies. Explain to the dispatcher why you're calling, and ask him to send officers to the person's location to pick her up. The police will likely double check the warrant in their system, but then officers will come to arrest the person.
- 4). Collect the reward. This may not always be an applicable step, but many times there is a reward given to citizens who are instrumental in the arrest of a wanted suspect.
