How to Get Information on Stock Market Updates
- 1). Subscribe to a financial newspaper like the Wall Street Journal or Barrons. These financial publications contain stock tables listing the price, price change and dividend yield of stocks on all of the major stock market exchanges.
- 2). Check several different financial websites each day to track the price performance of the stocks you are interested in. Financial websites can also provide you with valuable information about developments in the world of finance, as well as political developments that can impact the price of stocks.
- 3). Check with your brokerage firm if you have an account. Ask about the availability of real time quotes for the stocks you own and others you are considering. Some brokerage firms provide clients with a limited number of real time quotes per month, while others provide unlimited access to real time stock market information.
- 4). Log onto your computer and use your favorite spreadsheet program to track the price performance of your stocks over time. Place each stock on its own line, and use the columns across the top to record the price of that stock on a particular day.
