Slovakia is a small country in the heart of Europe, which is bordered by Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Austria and the Czech Republic. Even though this small country has no sea, it is an attractive destination for tourists. You will find here not only beautiful mountains that are worth seeing in the winter and as well as in the summer, picturesque villages and beautiful cities, many historical and cultural monuments, spas with medicinal and thermal springs, rare caves and also many other attractions. Slovakia is divided into counties, Banská Bystrica, Bratislava, Košice, Nitra, Prešov, Trencín, Trnava and Žilina, which are named according to their seats.

Nitra region occupies the south-western Slovakia. Nitra is nowadays a modern economic and cultural center of western Slovakia. Nitra region is rich in its cultural heritage. Cultural center of the region is Nitra.

Definitely worth seeing:

Castles: Levice Castle was built in the second half of the 13th century on a rocky hill above the marshy area. It should protect the way to the monastery fortress in Hronský Benadik and to the medieval mining towns. The castle often changed owners, who have rebuilt it several times. From the castle has been preserved a masonry of the upper castle with Gothic palace, the eastern bastion (used as a tea room), Southwest Bastion (serves as an amphitheater). The part of area is Dobóovský Renaissance mansion of 16th century and captain house with a western stronghold, residency of Tekovské Museum, which is a castle administrator. Gýmeš is the castle ruin on a steep quartzite hill Dún (514 above sea level) on the southern slopes of the mountains Tribec, about 5 km north of the village of Jelenec (Gýmeš). The castle ruin is an expressive feature of wide surroundings. Beautiful monuments are also Topolcany Castle, Castle Beladice - Pustý Chotár, Topolcianky Manor, Mojmírovce Manor, National stud Topolcianky.

Nature and other attractions: Rock dwellings Brhlovce is located in Levice district. Since there is a well established treatable ashes and dust - Tufit and tuff. The village and its surroundings observed in the Tertiary period the rich volcanic activity, a unique opportunity arose on how to use them. And so Brhlovce inhabitants cut into the sediment unique residential and economic premises. Stone was suitable material not only for the creation of original homes, but provided also livelihoods to the population. Water Mill Kolárovo, Arboretum Mlynany - Vieska nad Žitavou, Zvernica - purpose hunting ground in the north of the village Zlatno, Lovce, Žikava and Topolcianky, Lupka Nature Reserve, the European Square Komárno.

Nitra region is very rich in cultural heritage. Many are poorly available bus. Use the convenience of automobile transport.
