Arizona’s stunning scenery, spacious national parks and mild daytime winter temperatures (averaging 70 to 80 degrees in the southern regions of the state) combine to make a great bicycling vacation destination. Several tour companies offer bicycling trips through Arizona. With a variety of outdoor activities like hiking and bird-watching, cultural and historical attractions and not too much chance of rain, Arizona offers a good setting for a great bike ride. - Bike Escapades offers the Desert Winter Sunshine Arizona bike tour. Spend seven days touring the Sonoran desert, riding between 25 and 45 miles each day. You’ll experience a wide variety of terrain including flat, rolling and hilly. Trips begin and end in Tucson and include six nights lodging, daily breakfasts, five dinners, three lunches, snacks, baggage transport and biking guides. Bring your own bike or rent one for an extra fee. Hop onto the support van if you need a break from riding. Vacation highlights include riding through Saguaro National Park, visiting the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum, exploring the wild west town of Tombstone and staying at culturally and historically significant inns, guest ranches and bed and breakfasts along the way. You’ll also have the opportunity to hike, bird-watch and enjoy Southwestern cuisine.
