Wedding Father Of The Bride Speech

Marriage is the institution that joins two souls together and binds them in the promise of being husband and wife until death do them part. After the ceremonious wedding, a simple feast or banquet is held to celebrate the union further. This feast or banquet is known as the wedding reception, and it is when the parents of both the bride and the groom are asked to deliver their speeches. Here, now, is a sample wedding father of the bride speech.

For the first part of your speech, you may deliver the following lines: "Ladies and gentlemen, I wish you all a pleasant evening. For most fathers who have a daughter, the dream of seeing his daughter get married is but normal. This dream is one wherein his little girl is looking extra beautiful in her elegant wedding gown, and he walks with her down the aisle to lead her to the man of her choosing – her groom. Today, this dream that most of us fathers have became a reality for me, and for this I am truly happy."

"What I must admit, though, is that I can't help it but feel a bit sad. Forgive me, daughter, for feeling this way, but it's really hard letting you go. I am pained because the little girl who used to sit on my lap, my little girl, is finally leaving home and starting a family of her own. The only thing that consoles me is the knowledge that your husband, my son-in-law, won't fail me in taking care of you and loving you the way I did or even more."

"More importantly, I feel proud of you, dear daughter. You have grown up to be a remarkable young woman – intelligent, sweet, caring, amiable, and down-to-earth. I recall you as a young girl, and I feel that joy in seeing you now as the woman you've grown up to be. Your mom and I did well in raising you."

"And now, to the bride and the groom, congratulations! The bit of knowledge that I wish to impart to you both is this – Love each other no matter what. Marriage, as you will soon realize, is never perfectly easy. There will be rough and tough times, and you can't run away from arguments or misunderstandings. But the important thing is to remember that all these trials and adversities are no reason to give up. Stay together and stay in love."
