The Best Way to Kill Roaches with Boric Acid
- 1). Locate areas in your home that seem to be attracting cockroaches. This will be your target area for applying a boric acid treatment and killing the cockroaches. Common areas that may attract cockroaches include enclosed, dark and moist spaces in kitchens, bathrooms, attics and basements. You may also find cockroaches behind your kitchen appliances, in pantries or in cabinets.
- 2). Shake the container that contains the boric acid powder. There are several brands of boric acid powder, which you can purchase at any hardware store. Make sure that it is already premixed and ready to use in a squeezable bottle.
- 3). Apply a very thin layer of boric acid powder to the target area. This layer should almost be invisible to your human eye. You apply the powder by squeezing the bottle very gently until the boric acid powder lightly escapes the bottle in a puff. A large pile of boric acid powder will be ineffective, as cockroaches will avoid it.
