What should your opening first line in your article be? I said before the Golden Rule in writing an article is to take Action.
Starting to write is the first basic rule and the second is writing an effective introduction.
You can use one or a combination of techniques.
Here I will mention three of them.
  Begin with a question A very effective introduction is to open with a question.
This sucks the reader into the article.
It can be more effective if you open with a question focusing on a problem you actually solve in the article.
A question can also be a rhetorical question.
Is one personality style better than another? If you could choose would you rather be lively and the center of attraction or the silent type? The article can then reflect on the differences without answering the question.
Begin with an anecdote or example.
Start of with a little story or describing an incident.
That may be humorous or intriguing.
 I used such incident that triggered me in writing my book, Ozymandeus.
Though it is not in the book I use it as background to say where I come from and why I am fit to write about Egypt, religion and other things.
Such an introduction can be formal in that you tell the reader you are going to tell him a story.
A second option is to start right away.
The reader will quickly know what you are saying.
Ex: It was on the heap of stone, with the Heavens above and the Earth below that I realized what I should do.
I stepped down , sat down and took out my pen.
This is what I wrote.
Now you grabbed the attention and now it was time to further the interest.
The third technique is to state a fact or an unusual opinion.
Juan La Cruz must be the only man to have an ancient burial site right on his front lawn.
The reader would like you to answer why you say this.
Think that if you were the reader, would you want to have the answer?.
If not, then write the sentence differently or a different sentence.
