Using the Fire Extinguisher

• 1). Grip the fire extinguisher by the top, and pull the pin. This will unlock the fire extinguisher and free you to use it.
  
  
• 2). Aim the extinguisher at the base of the fire. Aim not at the flames, but at the source of the fire.
  
  
• 3). Squeeze the lever at the top of the fire extinguisher to discharge.
  
  
• 4). Using a sweeping motion, dousing the fire until it is out. When you begin putting the fire out, start from a safe distance and gradually move toward the fire until it is out.
