GRACE MEANS MORE...
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness hall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17)
One of the most common definitions of grace that many people are acquainted with is that grace means "unmerited favor." But you'll realize that this definition doesn't over all that grace is when you understand the Word and the Spirit's communication.
Unmerited favor is what every sinner who comes to Christ enjoys because God out of His great love and compassion chose to save the sinner in spite of his sins.
The Word grace is actually from a Greek word, "charis", which refers to the divine influence on a man's spirit. It is the "outworking" or outward reflection of that inward divine influence; the beauty, power, perfection, excellence, virtue and glory of divinity in your human spirit. It's that divine influence and endowment that beautifies your spirit and saturates your life until people take notice of you the way they did Jesus.
The Bible says about Him, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" (John 1:14).
If you're born again, grace for you isn't just unmerited favor; it is God's presence abundantly lavished on your spirit to produce favor, beauty and ability in you. Take advantage o God's grace in your job, family, finances, health and relationships today, for you've been abundantly graced and enabled to reign in life as a king: "...much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:17)
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for lavishly pouring out your grace upon my spirit. Thank you because what you've given is more than underserved favor; you're given me ability, acceptability and joy. I take advantage of your grace today by radiating your glory and beauty to my world, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
