How to Remove Mildew Stains From Towels
- 1). Place the towels outdoors in direct sunlight for several hours. This will let the towels fully dry, plus the sunlight will naturally kill the mildew spores.
- 2). Place a pair of gloves on your hands. Use a brush to scrub the mildew off the towels while still outdoors.
- 3). Soak the towels in bleach, using chlorinated bleach for whites or color-safe bleach for colored towels. Allow the towels to soak for 30 minutes.
- 4). Pour the entire basin of towels and bleach into the washing machine.
- 5). Turn the machine onto a warm water cycle and add laundry detergent. Add 1 cup of baking soda to deodorize the fabric.
- 6). Dry the towels as usual.
