How to Repair a Loose Master Lock Door Knob

    • 1). Use the handle tool that came with the doorknob or a small flat-head screwdriver to press the knob catch through the hole on the doorknob trim collar. While pressing the knob catch, pull the doorknob off the spindle. This is done on the inside of the door.

    • 2). Lift the trim ring off of the spindle with your flat-head screwdriver. This will expose the fastening assembly underneath.

    • 3). Tighten the screws with your Phillips screwdriver. You should feel your doorknob assembly snugging up to the door.

    • 4). Slide the trim ring back over the spindle and snap into place. Align the doorknob handle back up with the slot on the spindle. Push the doorknob on until it clicks into place.
