Turning 40 years old can create upheaval in our lives.
One way that we approach life differently is by taking control of our health.
For some, this means improving our health.
By 40, we have watched too many friends and family suffer illness and death that could have been prevented.
And by 40, we know that we don't feel good if we aren't exercising.
Before you attempt to create a new body or start an exercise program, consider changing your mind.
No, you shouldn't even think twice about improving your health.
But before you make major changes, consider getting yourself mentally ready to get in shape.
40 in your mind.
By the time you turn 40 years old, your personality is firmly established.
You consistently hold certain beliefs about yourself and others.
These thoughts also apply to your self-image.
You have beliefs about yourself and your body.
You might think positively about your physical fitness.
Maybe you eat healthy and get regular exercise.
Your self-image might include past trauma, abuse, or injury.
Negative thoughts and feelings might be trapped in your body, holding you back from better health.
Are you stuck in a holding pattern of negativity and self-doubt? Ready for change? If you are ready to exercise more, eat healthier, and improve your fitness, then it might be time for some mental transformation.
As you create goals and design a new exercise program, think about your self-image.
How do you imagine yourself? Here are some questions you should consider: oCan you imagine yourself healthier, free from pain or disease? oHow would you feel if you exercised more often? oHow would your friends, family, and co-workers act if you had different exercise habits? oAre you ready (in your mind) to live a healthier life? You must go beyond fears, inhibitions, and unhealthy patterns to create your healthier body.
40 is a great time for both mental and physical change!
