How to Remove Red Wine From Clothing
- 1). Blot the red wine immediately with paper towel. Pour white wine on the stain. Blot until it's clean with a cool, damp cloth. The white wine will neutralize the red wine and remove the stain.
- 2). Rub salt or baking soda into the stain. Dampen a clean cloth with club soda. Use it to blot off the stain.
- 3). Cover the red wine stain with artificial sweetener. Within 24 hours, brush off the sweetener. Rinse the garment in cold water. Apply distilled white vinegar on the stain if the material is cotton, permanent press or a cotton blend. Wash as usual.
- 4). Soak your wine-stained clothing in milk overnight. Rinse the garment well and wash as usual.
- 5). Mix a cup of water and a cup of ammonia in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on the wine stain. Cover the stain with an old, damp towel and set a hot steam iron on top of the towel for 1/2 of a minute. Remove the iron and the towel. The stain should be on the towel.
- 6). Soak your stained garment in 1 cup of dish soap mixed with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide. Wash in enzymatic laundry detergent.
