How to Get Chapstick Out of the Laundry
- 1). Remove Chapstick stain material from the surface of your laundry by scraping it off with a table knife. Use the dull edge of the knife so you don't tear the fabric.
- 2). Cover the remaining Chapstick stain with baby powder. Leave the baby powder on the greasy stain for 20 to 30 minutes to absorb the wax and grease residue. Brush the baby powder off and into the trash.
- 3). Pour dry cleaning solvent onto a clean cloth. Blot the remaining Chapstick stain to remove color stain caused by the Chapstick.
- 4). Treat any stubborn wax residue or color dye by soaking your laundry in a bucket of 1 gallon water mixed with 1/2 cup all-fabric bleach. Soak the clothing for 30 minutes, then wash as you normally would in the hottest water possible.
