How to Clean a Copper Bar
- 1). Soak a clean towel in warm water and wipe down the bar. This will remove most obvious dirt, such as dust, crumbs or other debris. Use a clean cloth to dry the remaining water from the bar.
- 2). Dilute dish soap in water and use a soft, clean cloth to remove dirt and mild stains. Using a circular motion, wipe until the stains and dirt disappear. Remove the soapy residue with a damp cloth and use a dry cloth to remove the remaining water.
- 3). Mix lemon juice with water to remove tougher stains. The acid from the lemon will help cut through added buildup that is not easily removed by warm water or a soapy mixture. After using this mixture, wipe the bar with a damp cloth and then dry the counter with a dry cloth.
- 4). Slice a lemon in half and dip the sliced end in a bowl of salt to remove extremely tough stains or buildup. The salt will act as a gentle abrasive and the lemon juice will serve as an acid to break down tough spots. Wipe off the bar with a damp cloth and then dry it with a clean, dry cloth.
