How to Block the Email of an Abusive Boyfriend

    Yahoo!

    • 1). Sign in to your Yahoo! email account, using your user ID and chosen password. Open your inbox and click on a past email from your abusive boyfriend.

    • 2). Highlight his email address by clicking on the first letter of it, holding down the mouse button and dragging the cursor across his email address until all of it is highlighted. Then hold down the "Control" key and the "C" key at the same time to copy it.

    • 3). Click "Options." Select "Mail Options" and click "Spam" to access spam, email and chat automatic handling choices.

    • 4). Place your cursor in the "Add a Blocked Address" field. Hold down the "Control" key and the "V" key at the same time to paste your boyfriend's email in the box. Click "Add" to prevent his emails from getting delivered to your Yahoo! mailbox.

    Windows Live Hotmail

    • 1). Sign into your Windows Live Hotmail account using your login ID and selected password. Click "Hotmail" on the page heading and "Inbox" from the drop-down menu.

    • 2). Click "Options" and "More Options" from the drop-down menu. Click "Safe and Blocked Senders" under the category labeled "Preventing Junk Email."

    • 3). Click "Blocked Senders." Type or paste your abusive boyfriend's email address into the blank box. Click "Add to List." The Windows Live Hotmail system will automatically delete his emails so they never reach your inbox.

    Gmail

    • 1). Sign in to your Gmail account to access your Inbox.

    • 2). Click "Create a Filter." Place your cursor in the "From" field. Type or paste your boyfriend's email address. Click "Next Step."

    • 3). Click the box next to "Delete" to allow Gmail to automatically delete any emails your boyfriend sends. Click "Select Filter" to include the email address on your Gmail blocked sender list.

    AOL Webmail

    • 1). Sign in to your AOL account with your login ID and password. Click "Settings." Click "Spam Settings"

    • 2). Click "Block Mail From Senders I Specify" in the Sender Filter menu.

    • 3). Type or paste your boyfriend's email into the blank box. Click the plus (+) symbol to add the email to your AOL Webmail block sender list. Click "Save."
