Understanding The Side Effects Of Medication
We find an assortment of medicinal pills on the dining tables of most households we visit.
No doubt, medicines developed with research have today provided such a great relief and cure from the ailments that used to drag a patient in physical and mental agony for long periods of time.
However, when these really need to be taken is important.
There are side effects that most medicines are beset with; people are either not aware of this fact or even if they are, they do not realize how serious these side effects could be! Some common side effects are drowsiness, headache or digestive disturbance.
Most of us would rather suffer these just to be out of the main symptoms we are having.
If we find the first sign of any nasal allergies, we quickly take recourse to a known antihistaminic drug to get rid of the irritating allergic condition.
What side effects such a drug is even known to produce are ignored.
This approach soon gets into our habit and takes such a firm grip on our psyche that our natural system of bearing even a little discomfort is given a go bye.
We do not quite realize the health hazard we present for ourselves.
One such simple example is that when a drug we have made our system so accustomed with is medically prescribed, we have already made overuse of it for trivial conditions.
Just think: had we allowed our natural body capacity to take charge of these simple phases of discomfort, we would make our system respond faster and better at this moment.
Our liver, a very vital body organ, is put to strain each time drugs are ingested into our body; the drugs can't produce the desired effect on the ailment without passing through liver.
How much can the liver take to such extra load? The liver may itself start getting sluggish or inefficient if put to avoidable gross misuse.
Among others, the liver has a very vital function of eliminating toxins that get ingested into our system.
We have to ensure that it stays healthy.
Human body cannot afford to suffer from a permanent damage to liver; it makes survival impossible because the system is unable to throw off toxins and other potentially harmful ingredients that reach the system.
The way out is simple - we must avoid taking recourse to medicines unless these are really required.
