How to Get Steri Strips to Stick
- 1). Clean the wound. Rinse the wound thoroughly with mild soap and water. If the wound is still bleeding, clean it again until you have the bleeding under control.
- 2). Dry the skin surrounding the wound. Use an alcohol pad, or dab it lightly with a paper towel or other highly absorbent tissue. Be careful to touch the wound itself as little as possible during this process to prevent further damage.
- 3). Place the Steri-Strip at a 90-degree angle to the wound, and push down firmly on the sticky parts. Lightly push down with your fingernail if necessary to let the Steri-Strips cling more firmly to the skin.
