How to Calculate Apparent Viscosity for Wet-Solid Mixtures
- 1). Look up the viscosity of the solid material if necessary. This value is available in material specification tables.
- 2). Take samples of the wet-solid mixture and the dry mixture without any liquids. Place a sample of each mixture into equal-sized container.
- 3). Place the dry-solid container on a scale, and record the weight.
- 4). Place the wet-solid container on a scale, and record the weight.
- 5). Divide the weight of the dry-solid by the weight of the wet-solid mixture.
- 6). Multiply the ratio found in Step 5 by the known viscosity of the solid material. The result is the apparent viscosity of the wet-solid mixture.
