- 1). Write down the vehicle identification number (VIN), which you can find on the outside of the car from the driver's side windshield by the dashboard, or inside the driver's side door jamb. You can also find it clearly printed on the title or on an insurance or registration card.
- 2). Go to the AutoCheck or CARFAX website. Enter your VIN in the space provided and click the green button to continue.
- 3). Click "Buy Now" for the AutoCheck website. CARFAX takes you directly to the payment page. Choose your package once on the payment page and provide your personal and credit card information.
- 4). Before continuing, read all of your information, including any small print on the page. Submit your order if you agree to the terms and customer agreement information.
