    Musical Hats

    • This party game is similar to musical chairs, only you use hats that are appropriate for the party theme, such as birthday hats for a birthday party or elf hats for a holiday party. Have the children stand in a circle. Count how many children you have, subtract one and place that amount of hats on the floor in the center of the circle (if you have 10 kids, you will put nine hats on the floor). Play music, and have the children walk in a circle around the hats. Stop the music at random intervals. When the music stops, children must reach into the circle and put on a hat. The child without a hat is out. The children put their hats in the circle again, after you have removed a hat. The music starts again. Play continues until the last child left wearing a hat wins.

    Who Holds the Coin?

    • Stand children in a line, and select one player to be the cashier. The cashier will stand at the head of the line. Hand a coin to the cashier. He then holds the coin in his cupped hands and passes it to the player next to him, who also keeps her hands cupped. Players can choose to either pass the coin or just pretend to pass the coin. The cashier stands in front of the line and watches carefully to try and determine who holds the coin. If a player doesn't pass the coin, the children continue to mock the coin passing until they reach the end of the line. Then the last child in line says, "Cashier, where is the coin?" The cashier then guesses which child holds the coin. If he guesses correctly, he gets to keep the coin. If his guess is incorrect, he takes the last place in line, and the person at the head of the line becomes the cashier.

    Catch the Balloon

    • Arrange the children in a circle on the floor. Assign each of them a number. Choose one player to be the balloon dropper. The balloon dropper stands in the center of the circle and calls out a number as she drops a balloon. The person who is that number gets up and tries to catch the balloon before it hits the floor. If the player catches the balloon, he becomes the balloon dropper. If he fails to catch it, he is out, and the original balloon dropper tries again.

    Who Am I?

    • Select one child to be the guesser, and send her out of the room. The other players decide what she should be. The guesser returns and goes around the circle asking what kind of things she needs in order to be who she is. If the children decided she is a doctor, they will answer things like scrubs, clipboard and a stethoscope. If the guesser correctly guesses who she is, she gets a prize. If she can't guess after each child has given a clue, she must leave again while the kids assign her a new identity.
