Many of us have daydreamed about the day when we will walk down the ever since childhood, right down to the gown we will wear, what our hair will look like, and the colors in our bouquet.
Planning your wedding, although tremendously exciting, can often feel overwhelming without some sort of guidance.
Do not use white flowers in your wedding.
White flowers have a tendency to bruise, making them look unattractive and causing them to be virtually unusable.
This means that your florist will have to get rid of a bunch of the blooms in order to find some that will look perfect on your special day.
You will spend less money if you choose a different color.
Depending on the size of your guest list, you will need to consider that the location you choose for both your wedding ceremony and reception must be within a reasonable distance of each other to make it convenient for your guests to get to and from.
Providing directions in your invitations is also very helpful for your guests once you have secured your locations.
Ask your vendors for recommendations about the other services that you need.
If you find a photographer that you love, ask that person to recommend a band that they like.
Ask the band to recommend another service that you need.
Not only will you find quality individuals this way, the vendors will probably all work better together if they like one another.
Set a budget.
Research how much you think you will spend in each wedding category and do your best to stick to it.
If you go over in one area, reduce the amount of money you have allocated for another area.
If you don't pay attention to what you are spending, you can get into monetary trouble very quickly.
A good piece of advice to keep in mind for weddings is to consider your wedding location in relation to how well the pictures will turn out.
This is important because you want to ensure there is both a lot of light as well as backgrounds that are pleasing to the eye.
Once you have the design of your wedding in mind, record it on paper and then start shopping around for services that specialize in that kind of design.
When you are looking at the different services that offer your desired design, then you can start narrowing them down by price and services.
Find out if you can bundle services at your wedding venue.
For example, find out if your venue can host both the wedding ceremony and reception as well as the catering.
See if these costs save you more than doing things individually so you can save money altogether when making your plans.
Planning for your big day does not have to feel overwhelming - by listening to advice and suggestions of those who have gone before you, you can organize the day of your dreams with a minimum of stress and anxiety.
You might even find that you enjoy planning for your wedding almost as much as the big event itself!
