You are going to have to build a place to live that will serve you being off this grid. You are going to have to build a place with solar panels in mind. These panels are going to be the source of all your electricity needs for your entire home. You will have to build a home that is conducive to your own electrical needs.
The sun is going to be the source of your energy needs. There will be no more reliance on the power company you used to use. Your panels will use the energy of the sun and convert into usable energy for everything in your home. From the toaster to the washing machine, the sun will be your source of energy.
The water company as well will have to be out of the picture. Being off the grid means you will be needing your own water supply, and you will have to get a water well dug. All this will be powered by the solar panels and you will become independent from these two utilities. You will have a free source of water, and you will have a free source of electricity to power the water pump. You will have total utility freedom.
