How to Play Games With Only Pen and Paper
- 1). Draw a grid on your paper that is 3 by 3 inches. To do this you draw two parallel horizontal lines and then cross those lines with two parallel vertical lines.
- 2). Decide which player will be X's and which player will be O's.
- 3). Have the X player place their first X in one square on the grid.
- 4). Have the O player place their first O in one of the remaining squares on the grid.
- 5). Continue playing this way, with each player trying to get three of their marks in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal), while also trying to block their opponent from doing the same. The first player to get three in a row is the winner. If the players run out of squares, before either player is able to get three of their marks in a row, then the game is a tie.
- 1). Draw a grid of dots that is at least 10 dots high and 10 dots wide.
- 2). Flip a coin to see which player goes first.
- 3). Have the first player connect two dots with either a horizontal or vertical line. Then the other player does the same.
- 4). Continue going back and forth in this manner, with each player trying to create boxes with the lines that are draw on the grid.
- 5). Write your initials inside a box once you have created one and take another turn after each box you create.
- 6). Count up each player's boxes after the whole grid has been used. The player with the most boxes wins.
- 1). Create a small pile a pieces of paper with book and movie titles on them.
- 2). Take turns by drawing a piece of paper from the pile and trying to convey the title on that piece of paper to the other player in a little over a minute.
- 3). Have the other player take a turn after your time expires or the other player guesses the title.
- 4). Don't keep score because this game isn't meant to determine a winner, but rather to simply entertain you and your friend.
