How to Make an iPhone Case
- 1). Measure the iPhone across its width and length.
- 2). Cut cardboard into a piece the same shape and size as the iPhone. Wrap the shape in tape to make it sturdy.
- 3). Cut the leather into two pieces. Make sure each piece is approximately 3/4 inch larger than the length and width of the iPhone.
- 4). Soak the leather in water. The time frame varies based on the thickness of the leather you are using. You will know when your leather is ready when it changes color and darkens.
- 5). Place the leather pieces around the cardboard and press the edges firmly together. If you wish to emboss the case, now is the time to do it while the leather is still wet and easy to mold.
- 6). Allow the leather to dry. This should take a day.
- 7). Sew the leather together, making sure you leave at least ¼ inch between your stitching and the edge of the mold. For thicker leather, it may be easier to poke small holes where you will stitch, instead of trying to force the needle through.
- 8). Trim the leather to shape. You can if you wish make two indentations at the top of the case to allow you to easily reach the iPhone.
- 9). Place the iPhone in the case.
