How to Iron a Girl's Petticoat

    • 1). Lay the petticoat on the edge of your ironing board. Position it over the actual edge, so one side of the petticoat is on top of the board while the other side is hanging off the bottom.

    • 2). Set your iron to the cotton setting. If your iron doesn’t have preprogrammed settings, set it on the lightest heat possible.

    • 3). Run a hand towel under a stream of room-temperature water. Ring out the towel so it’s barely damp. Place the towel over the petticoat, protecting the sensitive fabric from direct heat.

    • 4). Iron over the towel to smooth the fabric beneath. Once you iron the full side of the petticoat, lift the towel and rotate the petticoat to expose the other side.

    • 5). Iron the other side once you re-wet your towel. Hang the petticoat from your shower rod using clothespins to allow it to dry fully.
