The Sudley House in Liverpool, England officially opened to the public during the mid-20th century.

The Museum maintains a permanent collection of fine art and decorative art. The Victorian merchant's house is well-preserved with displays of period costume, Victorian furniture and fine examples of oil paintings by renowned British artists.

History:

The Sudley House in Liverpool opened to the public sometime after 1944.


However, the building was constructed in the early 19th century and was home to ship owner and merchant George Holt, whose daughter bequeathed the property and all its contents to the city in 1944 as a museum for public use.

The Sudley House is run by the National Museums Liverpool. In 2007, the Sudley House reopened after a period of two years of refurbishment work.
