    Yarn

    • Measure a length of any colored yarn you need to comfortably fit the back of the neck. Place the yarn on each arm of the eyeglasses. Tie the yarn in a tightly secured knot to prevent the eyeglasses from falling and risking damage to the glasses. Untie the knot in the yarn when you want to take the glasses off before placing the glasses into an eyeglass case. Use multicolored yarn to make a fashionable eyeglass cord.

    Shoestring

    • Wash an old long shoestring using laundry detergent and chlorinated bleach if the shoestring is white. Measure the length of the shoestring you need to fit around the neck. Use the string to make a loop on each arm of the eyeglasses. Tie the shoestring securely using more than one knot to prevent the string from breaking and risking damage to the eyeglasses. Remove the shoestring before putting the glasses into an eyeglass case. You can use fabric dye to add a fashionable touch to your eyeglass cord.

    Neckalce

    • Turn your favorite old broken necklace into an eyeglass cord. Use a necklace extender on each end of the necklace. Use the clasp of the necklace and the clasp of the necklace extender to fasten the necklace to each arm of the eyeglasses. Remove the necklace from the arms of the glasses when you are finished wearing them before placing the glasses on a table or in an eyeglass case.
