Etiquette on How to Eat Crawfish
- 1). Hold a boiled crawfish and grasp the head with your other hand. Break off the head with a twisting motion. Suck the meat from inside the head of the crawfish.
- 2). Grasp the body of the crawfish with one hand and the base of the tail with the other. Position your fingers so that the thumb is on the base of the tail and index finger is on top.
- 3). Pinch the base of the tail with your index finger and thumb to push the tail meat forward. Look for the crawfish meat to emerge at the forward end of the crawfish where the head was removed.
- 4). Raise the crawfish to your mouth and bite into the meat. Continue to pinch the tail to extract more meat.
- 5). Break open the claws of larger crawfish and pull out the meat. Squeeze the claws between your fingers to crack the shell. Look for small pieces of meat inside the claws.
