What Do You Do When You"ve Lost The Weight And You"re Finished With Medifast?

I often hear from people who have concerns about what is going to happen once they have success with the Medifast diet.
They are often concerned that going off the diet will be confusing or that there won't be enough support or that they will gain the weight right back.
I heard from someone who said: "I will be honest and say that I want to lose weight for a very specific event which is my sister's wedding.
She's getting married in three months and the dresses are very skimpy.
I need to lose around 20 pounds to feel comfortable.
And, still being honest, I don't want to stay on the diet after the wedding.
I just want to get on with my life, albeit hopefully much lighter.
Does the company offer support? Or do you just go off the diet when you feel like it? What happens when you decide to go off?" Well, the diet is set up to prepare you for the eventual day where you no longer need to be on it.
Through your daily lean and green meals, you learn to cook healthful meals and to make good choices.
So it isn't as if you haven't learned any new skills.
I also believe that by the time the diet is over, you have probably learned to feel full eating less food.
With this said, many people enjoy using the company's transition and maintenance plans as a way to sort of ease into going off the plan.
The Maintenance And Transition Phases Explained: So, you really have a couple of options when it's time to go off of Medifast.
You can just go back to regular eating and try hard to make healthful choices.
Or, you can ease into it where you're still eating some diet meals but are also incorporating regular grocery foods back into your day to day life.
Many people start with transition.
This is when you've lost your weight and are trying to begin to make you own choices again.
The Medifast transition program is four weeks so that no change seems too drastic.
During the first week, you're allowed all vegetables.
So, those starchy or sweet vegetables that used to be frowned upon are fair game again.
You also add in additional vegetables into your day, so you're getting more in terms of quantify as well.
During week two, you add in some fruit.
During week three, you add in some dairy and you cut out one of the Medifast prepackaged meals.
And on the fourth week, you add in whole grains and you move down to only three prepackaged Medifast meals.
The next phase of the plan would be the maintenance plan where you continue to eat three of the diet meals and you continue to be able to eat fruit, vegetables, dairy and whole grain.
So to answer the question posed, it's really up to you how you want to transition off the diet.
They do offer you special transition and maintenance plans if you'd like to make this a gradual process.
But there is no requirement that you have to do a certain thing or go a particular way, although many find easing into the change to be helpful in helping them to keep the weight off and to be very gradual about returning to a regular diet.
