With the advances of technology more and more people are relying on cell phones and getting rid of their home phones.
People are using cell phones everywhere you look.
What is sad is they are using them on the roadways also.
With all these people using a cell phone while driving, the road is becoming a pretty dangerous place to be.
These gadgets and distracted drivers are creating a situation to where the risk of accidents is greatly increased.
Increased risk of accident also increases the premiums you and I pay.
The numbers clearly show a correlation between using a cell phone while driving and a percentage of auto accidents.
What is surprising is that this does not discourage people from chatting away and even more surprising is these folks run a greater risk of having a collision with others also talking on these gadgets.
No matter what the cause of an accident is an insurer will most generally raise your premium if you have an accident.
Your premium will absolutely increase if the accident is determined to be your fault and you were found to be talking on a cell phone while driving.
I think it is safe to say your insurance provider will not be happy with you.
I think there is a lesson to take away from this.
If you talk on your phone and drive then simply stop it now.
There is not one thing on this planet that so important that you should risk your life to share it with a loved one or friend on a cell phone while driving.
If a situation arises involving your kids and you think you need to get a hold of your spouse and you are driving, then simply pull your vehicle over and then make your call.
You also need to be a responsible parent and teach your children by example that driving and phones do not mix.
Teenagers brains are not fully developed and they are a higher risk driver as it is.
Using a cell phone while driving would be an extra distraction they do not need.
It is critically important that you practice driving without using your cellular.
This will help keep your premiums low and you will never have to live with the fact you caused an accident that seriously hurt or killed another person.
There is nothing to think about.
Just do not talk and drive.
