Fixing a Browser Crash

• 1). Click Alt-F4 to immediately close the window if the problem is a software issue, such as a mouse or keyboard not responding to the computer.
  
  
• 2). If you're running Windows XP or older, press "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" at the same time to bring up a window called the Task Manager. If you have Windows Vista and 7, summon the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Esc.
  
  In Windows Vista and 7, Ctrl-Alt-Delete also brings up the Task Manager in a separate screen, but Ctrl-Shift-Esc directly summons the window and is a more effective solution during a crash.
  
  
• 3). Once the Task Manager screen shows up, locate Internet Explorer under the Applications tab. Right-click and select Go to Process.
  
  
• 4). The Process tab shows all the programs running on the computer. The name of the Internet Explorer process is iexplore.exe. Once the process is highlighted, click End Process. This will immediately close the program and allow you to start over.
