How Much Should We Exercise?
One recommendation from a recognized medical institution was that we should all engage in 60 minutes of exercise on a daily basis.
And this didn't count the regular unscheduled activities that people do such as walking around a shopping center, going to the grocery store, walking from their car to their office and back, climbing stairs, etc.
In my opinion, the 60 minute per day regimen is not within the reach or desire of the vast majority of people.
Most of us have busy lifestyles, but we know that having a solid daily exercise routine is necessary to maintain our cardiovascular and overall health.
This can be achieved by setting aside a more reasonable time of 15-30 minutes a day to do our favorite exercise, be it walking, jogging, stretching, etc.
If done in moderation, your favorite exercise can keep you in good physical condition whether you are a pre-schooler, school age, young adult, senior citizen, male or female.
So choose an exercise that you enjoy and get off the couch and do it on a daily basis.
The more that your exercise incorporates the three major elements of endurance, flexibility, and strength, the better chance you have of enjoying good health throughout your life.
As a senior citizen, I chose a rebounding exercise that I thoroughly enjoy.
It's easy and fun to do, and the benefits have been very positive.
