What lifestyle do you want to live? How about a life where you can be active and enjoy each day? Fitness lifestyle means that exercise and nutrition should be a regular part of however you choose to live.
Being active doesn't have to be complicated.
If you are a person who doesn't think they have time for a routine, try incorporating alternative ways to get moving.
The idea is to just get moving and improve your life.
Many people think that you have to make major changes in your life in order to workout and start to eating better.
The fact is small steps and changes will make the biggest difference.
The reason so many people fail when they make New Years Resolutions is because they try to make big changes to their life.
Simple Goals The best thing to do is to decide on one or two changes that you want to make.
Then gradually over time, make a couple more positive changes in your daily activities.
After all, it took you more than a few days to get out of shape or to eat a certain way.
You should give yourself some time to work toward your ultimate goal of creating a healthy, fit lifestyle.
Make up your mind to stick to that one goal for a certain length of time.
Then re-evaluate if you want to continue or not.
Maybe you want to lose a certain amount of weight.
Instead of trying to lose 50 or 100 pounds, try setting a goal to lose 4-5 pounds by the first of next month.
After you lose the first 5 pounds, then set another goal to lose another 5 pounds with a date attached.
New Activities Simple ways to get fit could include taking the stairs when you are out and about shopping.
Walking to a friends or family members house if they live fairly close by.
Standing and moving around while your are talking on the phone.
Raking leaves or gardening in your flower or vegetable garden.
Any way you can think of to move your body is a great way to stay active.
Maybe you like to hike or walk in the woods, rediscover the environment.
Possibly rediscover a sports activity such as tennis, or bowling.
How about getting back into the swim of things by going to your local YMCA for swimming.
Daily Goals However you choose to be active is entirely up to you.
Just be creative and think of ways to get your body moving.
If you enjoy what you're doing you'll most likely stick with it.
You can accomplish this with a variety of activities.
How about taking an exercise class.
Again your local YMCA is a great place to participate in aerobic classes, water exercise, etc.
For extra motivation, ask a friend or relative to accompany you to these classes or workouts.
If you have someone working with you it can help keep you on track with your exercise goals.
If you don't have a YMCA close by, consider buying an exercise DVD and follow along in the comfort of your own home.
You can still invite a friend or family member to participate with you a few days a week.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you set daily goals according to your schedule and lifestyle.
Keeping an exercise or activity log can be a big help in motivating you to stay active.
Remember it doesn't have to hard, long or complicated to include exercise into your lifestyle.
