Valentine Wedding Themes
- Valentine's Day is a holiday for celebrating love and one that many brides choose for their wedding date. Whether your wedding falls on Valentine's Day or simply carries a Valentine them, you can draw inspiration from this romantic holiday. From incorporating red, white and pink into your theme colors to creating wedding favors and centerpieces that represent the day of love, there are many ways you can incorporate Valentine themes into your wedding day.
- For a traditional wedding theme, consider a Victorian-style wedding theme. Starting with your wedding dress, you can wear a Victorian-style gown with plenty of lace, seed pearls and buttons. Adorn your bridal party in vintage-style red gowns and gloves. The women in the bridal party can wear kitten-heeled Victorian shoes and carry deep red rose bouquets. Place Victorian lace overlays on red cloth-covered reception tables. Find Victorian-style decorative paper or card stocks you can use as place cards.
- Along with lots of red and white, you can use accent decorations in pink or gold. Mix and mingle the sweetheart colors of love into every aspect of your wedding. Guys can wear red ties and vests with their tuxedos. Bridesmaids can wear red, pink or gold gowns.
- Cherubs -- specifically Cupid, the cherub of love -- are another accent you can weave into a Valentine-theme wedding. While you concentrate your color scheme on reds, whites and pinks, have your florist weave red and white roses in with small cherub fixtures to create your reception table centerpieces. Have the linen company tie a small cupid as the accent to the chair tie. Have a cupid water fountain installed in the reception area and fill the tables with white pillar candles and votives for ambiance.
- Give away little boxes of heart-shaped candies as favors, such as conversation hearts printed with the bride and groom's name and wedding date. Set large crystal bowls filled with heart-shaped candy. Continue the heart theme with ice sculptures.
