Problems With Xbox Wireless
- Your console may not be within range of your wireless network. Try moving your console to a room that is closer to your router. Also make sure that your router is using a wireless network name, or SSID.
- Make sure your wireless adapter is fully inserted into the back of the console and that the green light is on. Try disconnecting the device and reconnecting it.
- There could be wireless devices using the same radio frequency band that are interfering with the signal. Home phones, cell phones and microwaves are known to sometimes cause these problems. You can either move these items out of the path of the signal between the console and the router or try using another channel (such as 802.11a instead of 802.11g).
- Try restoring the factory defaults on the wireless adapter. The adapter will blink green and then red to show that the defaults are restored. Try again to save the new settings after the restore.
- If you run into this problem you may have entered your WEP key in the wrong format. Your WEP key must be numbers 0-9 and letters A-F and can be a mix of both numbers and letters.
