When Airline Passengers Want More Luxurious Options - Some Airlines Are Answering the Call
For the seasoned executive business traveler there are many options of getting from point A to point B.
And whereas, there is generally a difference in cost of how one gets to their destination, more options are available when money is not the primary concern.
Now then, there has always been a wide gap in the difference in service between airlines, commuter flights, private jets, and air charter services.
But what if an airline stopped thinking like an airline and started thinking like a transportation company with total service in mind? Well, some airlines actually are.
In fact, as one example there was an interesting piece in Bloomberg Business Week on October 29, 2012 titled; "Your Private Jet Has Arrived" which stated; "Luftstanza offers convenient flights to 100s of international destinations, combined with peerless service.
It's new Private Jet Service reaches 100s of destinations, including many that lack regularly scheduled airline service.
" In essence, this goes along the old theory of bundling customer services.
After all, the hospitality industry does this as there are concierges at the higher end hotels.
An airline that puts in a concierge desk or has special travel agent like concierge answering the phone can easily mix and match the two services to provide its customers with exactly what they need.
For instance, an airline passenger might fly first-class to a major airport, and then be picked up at the gate, shuttled to a corporate jet, and taken to their final destination without all the extra hassle.
Extra private jet aircraft or corporate jets could be parked at the major airports ready to go in a moment's notice with qualified pilots.
Now then, let me ask you another question; is it possible that companies like Net Jet, and other fractional corporate jet companies might also lean the other way? For instance have a few larger aircraft - airliner class - or work very closely with an airline to synchronize flights with a concierge desk to help move people? In many regards this already happens because a corporate jet from a large company that's privately owned might fly to its destination, but one or two members of the team has to fly back, or go to a third destination.
Someone at the airport's Jet Center just gives them a ride to the main terminal, and away they go.
This makes total sense for the movers and shakers of our world; people who are running our government or our largest corporations.
It also makes sense for the wealthy crowd who have places to go and people to see.
This mixing and matching and bundling of customer services surely makes sense, and we are sure to see more of it.
Please consider all this and think on it.
