How to Make Gold on a New Server in Wow
- 1). Create your new character. Complete the starting area quests. Around the time your character reaches level five, it will be time for her to travel to a small town with an inn and profession trainers. Examples include Goldshire for humans and Brill for Forsaken.
- 2). Pick up two gathering professions from the trainers in town. The gathering professions are herbalism, skinning and mining. Each of these professions are lucrative since they allow you to gather materials as you level your character. If you're unsure of which to choose, ask in General or Trade chat to find out whether herbs, leather or minerals are most needed on your new server.
- 3). Visit the Auction House at one of your faction's major cities. For the Horde, this will be Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar, Silvermoon City or the Undercity. Alliance characters can go to the Exodar, Darnassus, Iron Forge or Stormwind.
- 4). Put your items up for bid at the Auction House. The items you get from gathering professions--leather, minerals and herbs--typically sell well because they're used for leatherworking, blacksmithing and alchemy. How well they sell depends on the needs of the people on your new server. Search for the items you will be selling before pricing them. See what the average going rate is.
- 5). Ask in Trade chat. You will automatically join Trade chat when entering a major city. Be polite and friendly and ask about the server's economy. Find out what type of materials people need. For example, if tailoring is a popular profession on the realm, there might be a big need for linen, wool and silk. These items are easy to "farm" at lower levels.
