God of War Chains of Olympus God Mode Hints
- You will die often during God Mode. The consolation is that the game features a very forgiving checkpoint system. When you die, you'll only be forced to replay the current skirmish or boss battle. This means that you can play the game by treating each battle as completely contained. Defeating every enemy in the current area and being left with little health has no real consequence. When you die in the next area you'll restart with full health. Take your time and treat the game as bite-sized pieces rather than a massive challenge. Every small step forward is one step closer to completing God Mode and obtaining the bonus items victory will yield.
- When playing "God of War: Chains of Olympus" on God Mode you will not have the luxury of spending red orbs upgrading each of your weapons and magic spells to their max. You will have to choose which weapon to use and which spell will be most effective and only focus on their upgrades. As soon as you acquire the Gauntlet of Zeus, keep this equipped as your primary weapon. Hold "L" and press "Triangle" to perform Olympic Thunder with the gauntlet and you'll damage all surrounding enemies with a ground pound. You never want a group of bad guys to surround Kratos in this mode as they will quickly eat away at your health. When you're not keeping them at bay with the gauntlet, use your Efreet spell to continuously attack foes. Upgrade the spell to level 2 for repeated attacking power while level three adds a final powerful end to the spell. The key to surviving through God Mode is to alternate between your spells and normal attacks. Always find the groups of enemies and take them out before they have a chance to react.
- The enemies in God Mode dish out more damage to Kratos and will take more hits to bring down than in the easier modes. One technique to help you defeat these tougher opponents is to make use of Kratos' grab move. Tap circle when you're near enemies such as the Persian Soldiers and the Demon Birds. After you grab and throw the enemy, run towards them and repeat the same move until they are defeated. As a bonus, when grabbing an enemy, Kratos cannot be damaged by outside attacks. Test your grab and throw on every enemy, and use it to make your way through the forces of Zeus.
