Could Your Thinning Hair Loss Be Caused by a Combination of Heredity and Hormones?

103 6
As you may already know there are many factors that can cause or contribute to thinning hair loss.
This list includes hormones, heredity, diet, illness, stress, and poor hair care just to name of few with most of us pleading guilty to at least one of these candidates.
The good news is that with most of these possible causes once the culprit is eliminated hair re-growth will resume.
And example would be if you were crash dieting for the big date you would likely experience some thinning hair loss while becoming rail thin but once you're eating habits normalized hair loss would stop and new growth would resume.
But the first two causes listed (heredity an hormones) paint an entirely different picture for many individuals in the form of male and female pattern baldness.
Have either one of your parents seen any noticeable thinning hair loss? What about your grandparents, aunts, or uncles.
If you answered yes to any of these you have a genetic susceptibility to male or female pattern baldness.
While heredity is perhaps the primary factor it is not the only one.
It is ultimately hormones that will drive your balding bus straight to your new residence in the booming metropolis of Bald City.
Home of the wig, toupee, and creative cap convention.
Male and female pattern baling present themselves in much different ways.
In men the pattern is quite predictable beginning with a receding hairline and moving to hair loss being concentrated on the top of the head in an oval and ultimately forming a M shaped pattern.
For women a generalized thinning, often beginning on top, is more the norm with very little hair-line recession, but it is important to keep in mind that patterns can vary due to genetic enzyme receptor formations along with a myriad of other factors.
The primary hormone responsible for thinning hair loss associated with male and female pattern baldness is dihydrotestosterone or DHT.
DHT is produced in the hair cell.
Once DHT is produced it starts to accumulate in the hair follicle causing a slow contraction in follicle size.
This contraction leads to permanent hair loss rendering some follicle incapable of producing new growth.
The only way to reverse this condition is to either reopen closed or damaged follicles or interrupt the production of the DHT by the hair mediating enzyme 5 alpha reductase type 2.
If one of these is accomplished you will likely see a small improvement with thinning hair loss relenting, at least for a while.
If you can accomplish both your chances are pretty good of seeing new quality growth and improving the overall health and vitality of your hair.
There are a handful of hair re-growth products (specially formulated for both men and women) which have been proven to be effective both in blocking harmful hormones and bringing the all important dead hair follicles back to life.
These specially formulated treatments can be used both as a preventative tool, starting before hair loss becomes severe, or after loss of hair has become noticeable.
Whatever the level of balding or thinning you are experiencing these products could be just what is needed to overcome this latest life challenge.
