Definition:

A two wheeled horse drawn vehicle. There are many types of carts, from one seat sulkies and bikes used by Standardbred racing to old fashioned high wheeled 'dog carts' or Meadowbrooks. Governess carts were made so several people could sit in it, with the door to the rear for easy entry and exit. Some carts, sometimes called 'dray carts' were used for hauling goods and others were strictly for carrying passengers.
