    Controlling Traffic

    • 1). Hold the slow or stop sign with one hand extended out and the slow sign facing oncoming traffic. Turn the other arm slowly with your palm down. This will indicate to drivers to slow down.

    • 2). Hold the slow or stop sign with one hand extended out and the stop sign facing oncoming traffic. Hold the other hand toward the traffic in a flat position facing upward, showing the palm of your hand to the vehicles. This indicates that traffic must stop.

    • 3). Set the sign down out of view of the drivers. Turn the other arm quickly with your palm down. This will indicate that vehicles can drive at the posted speed.
