Mixed Grip Pullups For Quick Muscle Gain
Chinups and pullups are great body weight exercises to gain muscles and increase strength.
The difference between chinups and pullups is that chinups are performed with your palms facing you and the pullups are performed with your palms facing away from you.
Today I am going to be talking about the Mixed Grip Pullups which is a great exercise for the asymmetric loading that it generates on the body.
Now let us look at why this is such a great exercise.
Let us say that the left palm is facing the trainee and the right palm is facing away from the trainee.
With this setup, a greater portion of the load is on the trainees' left arm because the load will shift to the more mechanically efficient arm.
To get an even tougher workout, keep your grips wider.
The important point here is to ensure proper form throughout this exercise.
Keep your body as straight as possible.
You can make this exercise a lot tougher by adding weights to your belt.
Another really cool trick to make this exercise even tougher is to hold a football gripped between your calves! To ensure equal muscle gain on both sides of the body, ensure that you alternate your grips with each repetition and perform equal number of repetitions on each side.
Mixed grip pullups are a great way for quick muscle gain on your back as well as shoulders.
They are good for building muscles on the biceps also.
