Every parent wants to keep their child safe, but also understands the importance of letting their child grow up and not being kept wrapped in cotton well as this can also bring about a lot of problems in development.
We are bombarded every day of reports and images on the tele, newspapers about terrible events that go on locally and around the world.
When these events involve children we cant help but take a close interest because we want to protect out own children.
One thing we need to understand though is that stories make the news because they are bring about fear, and when adversity and fear is involved people take notice.
Important that we realise these terrible reports that make the news media, is only reflecting a small percentage of society.
And a lot of people are genuine and honest individuals.
I firmly believe that focusing to much on negative images of fear can bring about such things in our own lives.
As we naturally attract what we are most fearful of.
That's why I believe its important to be aware of whats going on in the world and around us.
But also be able to detach from it and not live in a state of fear and worry.
The eyes of fear puts bigger locks on our doors, and tells us not to go out, not to trust anyone.
On the other hand the eyes of love see the world full of opportunity and promise.
I think especially for our children's development and future we need to find a balance between protecting our children, and letting them grow up naturally and experience the beauty of life.
