Emo is a culture that has invaded our teenage society.
It's surprising that it hasn't sparked a literature genre of it's own.
Sadly, it's hard to find a good emo book in the marketplace.
The truth is that emo is a smaller culture than many of those out there and many other subcultures have been born from it.
As cyber goth and glam goth are subcultures that have branched off from the gothic culture, scene is the subculture that has branched off from the emo culture.
Still, between scene and emo people, there aren't enough to start a popular literature craze.
Unfortunately, this makes a good emo book even harder to find.
There are a few brave authors who have taken up the torch though in an attempt to feed the emo and scene cultures that are hungry to read about people who they can relate to.
Still, there are only a handful of related books on the marketplace.
And finding an emo book that is any good is even rarer.
Most of the related books on the marketplace seek to further explain the culture that is emo.
Some are dramas depicting teenage life as an emo.
The truth is that the pickings are unfortunately slim.
And with the decline of the emo population, or rather the embrace of scene over emo and the continuing arguments over whether emo is the style of music and scene is the fashion sense, few dare to take on the task of producing an emo book when there is no clearly defined line between what is emo and what is scene.
The question of whether emo and scene will eventually die out like many subcultures before them has made the desire for writers to work on an emo book not particularly appealing.
There's no way to tell if such authors are missing out on a profitable opportunity or playing it smart by passing up on this craze.
Either way, the lack of such books on the marketplace is certainly disappointing to some.
